Weave together the threads of beauty
Get glam for one stunning, exclusive night at Auckland Art Gallery. Start with cocktails and canapés under the night sky at the Gallery’s secret rooftop terrace overlooking Albert Park. Then, join Master of Ceremonies Luke Bird and rub shoulders with designers, Kim Fraser (Wasteless-Kiwi), Kiri Nathan (Kiri Nathan), Bobby Luke-Campbell (Campbell Luke) and Misty Ratima (The People), as you get up close and personal with a one-night only display of their contemporary kākahu.
View an exquisite selection of kākahu by late, renowned weavers Dame Rangimarie Hetet and her daughter Dr Diggeress Rangitutahi Te Kanawa in a showcase of traditional kākahu. Plus, enjoy live entertainment from songstress Taisha Tari and soul diva Betty-Anne Monga, also featuring solo saxophonist Donna Heke.
Explore Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art — the largest exhibition in the Gallery's 132-year history — throughout the night.
Weaving cultural narratives and aesthetics of past, present and future.
