Andrew de Boer
Artwork Detail
Andrew de Boer’s sculpture is an amalgam of austerity and sensuality. His materials appear clinical, but the forms he engages are organic, even mystical. Balanced on the wall with seeming precariousness, Solar flare loops into space. The dynamic shape suggests a scientific diagram of light in motion, like the cosmic explosion indicated in the title. (Golden, 2004)
