Alan Sonfist
Artwork Detail
Alan Sonfist is a pioneer of Land art – art that is integrated into, and responds to the landscape. His works passionately respond to ecologies, often seeking to combine human and natural processes. Crystal Enclosure’s natural mineral crystals convert
to a gas then recrystallise with fluctuations of temperature and light. The self-contained system, perpetually changing, is a metaphor for Earth’s ecosystem.
