Thomas Beach
Artwork Detail
Thomas Beach was a pupil of Sir Joshua Reynolds. Although he resided for the main in Bath he exhibited often at the Royal Academy in London. He developed a passion for the theatre, and painted the famous actress Sarah Siddons on several occasions. This must be an early work, because in all his later portraits he shows her under 'the sway of the muse'.
