Julius Ibbetson
Artwork Detail
Ibbetson did a series of rural scenes while staying at the Lake District in old age, often using trees to frame groups of rustic figures in the centre of the composition in a picturesque manner. Like the Pied Piper, the shepherd boy plays his horn while the sheep dog and shepherdess scamper after straying members of the flock.
