Lisa Reihana
Artwork Detail
Selfish Thirst explores intimacy through lively, warm and textural, moving patterns. Lisa achieves this through a complex fabric of patterning that can be described as hyper-nature creations. The imagery transforms and mutates as if to illustrate that thought and reality [about sexual intimacy] are patterned ideas… yet we cannot exist in a pattern-free state of mind or reality. Digitally textured and abstracted patterns produce art that explores dynamic relationships between pattern and colour. Reihana intensifies her visual narrative by building tension through variations on timing and frequency of pattern.
