Rosalie Gascoigne
Artwork Detail
While internationally renowned as a contemporary Australian artist, Rosalie Gascoigne always considered herself to be a New Zealander. During the last years of her life she retained close ties with Auckland, the city of her birth.
The title is a witty response to a fashion term that refers to a textile assemblage. (Local Atlas: Contemporary New Zealand and Australian Art, 2004)
