Alberto Pullicino
Artwork Detail
Pullicino painted his original set of eight views of Malta for the Chevalier Turgot in 1749, and made several other versions thereafter, with slight variations. This scene is very similar to the work painted c1749 called View of the left side of the Grand Harbour, taken from Valletta, from Fort Ricasoli to the heights of Corradino with all the cities and creeks between. In this version he has included an extra ship with blue flags, although it is very difficult to identify its ensignia.
