exhibition Details
Two exhibitions of work by one of New Zealand's most celebrated women artists, Rita Angus, are on display alongside each other at the Auckland Art Gallery until 28 July.
The first exhibition Angus by Angus: 23 Self Portraits reveals a life-long process of self-definition and assertion of identity, the by- product of which is a detailed documentation of physical change. These works also express and encapsulate Angus' particular interests and philosophies in a singular and intriguing way.
These exhibitions are toured by the Hocken Library Uare Taoka o Hakena, University of Otago, Dunedin.
