Zinefest Quiet Hour

 —  10–11am on both days

event Details

Love Zinefest but find the crowds a little overwhelming? We hear you and we understand.

This year we are running a Quiet Hour for Auckland Zinefest from 10.00am to 11.00am on both days of the market weekend. This is outside of the promoted Zinefest market-day hours. Stallholders will be set up ready for you to enjoy and purchase zines when the Gallery opens at 10am.

We welcome you to visit during this time if you need a more relaxed sensory experience.

If you aren’t able to attend during Quiet Hour, there are a few spaces in the Gallery where you can venture for a break from the crowds when you need one. Head to Level 2, where you can find the North Terrace (wheelchair access), where Darcell Apelu’s artwork Carry Me with You  is on display, or alternatively you could exit the café and go to the amphitheatre around the back of the building by the steps leading up to Rangipuke Albert Park (no wheelchair access). Both these places connect to the outside environment and have either partial or full shelter. There may be other visitors also using the space, but it will be less crowded.

Check out the Auckland Zinefest Facebook, Instagram or website for stallholder details closer to the time.
