event Details
Join us at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki for a special acoustic performance by members of the Songwriters 4 Climate Collective, a continually growing community of musicians who use music to spark conversation, connection, and action around climate change. This Music of the Month event celebrates Olafur Eliasson: Your curious journey, an exhibition that, like the collective’s work, explores our relationship with the environment and the urgent need for climate awareness.
Songwriters 4 Climate Collective is an initiative by Holding Space Aotearoa, bringing together and supporting artists to create content that reflects the challenges and hopes of climate action. With two compilation albums already released and a third in development (SW4CA Vol.3 Rangatahi), the project fosters creativity and collaboration, encouraging artists to respond to the work of climate experts and kaitiaki (guardians).
Under the mesmerising glow of Eliasson’s artwork Under the weather, a lineup of incredible local artists – Ema I‘u, Street Georges, Ravi the Poet, and Claire Kendall – will bring their voices, passion, and original songs to life. Expect an afternoon of soulful connections, hope and inspiration as music and art merge to spark dialogue and action.
Come for the music, stay for the message – through art we can reimagine our future.
This event is free and open to all ages.
