Join us for a one-off screening of the cult film My Best Thing by Los Angeles artist Frances Stark, in association with the exhibition Honestly Speaking: the word the body and the internet.
First presented at the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011, Stark's film is a feature-length animation in the form of a serialized soap opera, constructed from interactions in online video chatrooms. The female protagonist's discussions with random participants soon expand into broader topics including film history, politics, and protest, and she gradually grows fond of some of her interlocutors, who transform from strangers into confidants and collaborators.
The film will be given a short introduction by the Gallery's Curator Contemporary Art, Natasha Conland.

Please note: The film contains language that some may find offensive as well as sexual and adult themes. It is suggested that viewing is restricted to mature audiences 16 years and over.
