Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is New Zealand’s largest and most inspiring visual arts experience.
Enter between majestic kauri columns to explore four floors of exhibitions, many centuries of art and one of Auckland's most iconic buildings. Visit us and discover some of the best in New Zealand and international art right in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau – Auckland city.

We are open daily, except Christmas day.
Our opening hours are, 10am–5pm.
We recommend approximately an hour visit for a thorough experience at the Gallery. Visitors will be asked to begin to make their way back to the entry from 4.45pm to collect bags with the building closing at 5pm.

Find us just off Queen Street in Auckland's CBD – we’re a quick 15-minute walk from Britomart Transport Centre and the Ferry Building. Ride up Queen Street on the City LINK bus or jump on the Outer LINK bus to travel to the Gallery along Wellesley Street. AT Mobile is a useful app from Auckland Transport that helps plan, save and track journeys across Auckland’s public transport network. Download today via the App Store or Google Play.
Taxis can pick up and drop off from the loading bays on Kitchener Street. An alternative option is to experience the Auckland Explorer bus, which you can hop on and off and stops at The Civic nearby every thirty minutes.
If you are arriving by car, our closest public parking space is Auckland Transport's Victoria Street East car park.
If you are arriving by bike, you'll find bike racks directly opposite the Gallery's main entrance on Kitchener Street.
Admission charges for international visitors have been suspended until further notice. New Zealand residents, Gallery Members and Children 12 & under continue to enjoy free entry in the same way they always have. Visit our Admission page for more information.
