On 4 December 2020, Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art, Auckland Art Gallery's largest-ever exhibition, was blessed at dawn.
In the presence of the artists and their whānau, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, other mana whenua groups and Haerewa (the Gallery's Māori Advisory Group) performed a powerful and moving blessing.
An exclusive launch event for the artists and guests celebrated the opening of the landmark exhibition.
