Toi Tū Toi Ora Artist Profiles: Overview
Featuring over 300 artworks by 111 Māori artists, Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art was the largest exhibition in the 133-year history of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.
It celebrated a vast range of contemporary Māori art from the last 70 years, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, clay-making, jewellery and body adornment, photography, digital media, film and installation art.
This series of videos profiles contributors to the exhibition, giving insight and access to their processes, practice and creative thinking as they explore personal and cultural histories, Māori knowledge, identity and place.
