Members Lounge

Exclusively available to Members, the Lounge is located on Level 2 of the Gallery nestled amongst the trees overlooking Albert Park. Here, Members can make use of free WiFi, tea and coffee facilities, as well as the latest magazines and exhibition catalogues.

Opening hours and access

The lounge is generally open to Members during Gallery opening hours every day of the year, except Christmas Day, 10am – 5pm.

To unlock the Lounge door, hold your digital or physical Members card in front of the scanner, at about 10cm distance. If the door does not open, please ask one of our friendly staff members for help.

Lounge closures

At times, the Lounge will be closed due to private events. While we always try to give advance notice of Lounge closures, on rare occasions, this may not be possible. We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience. Please check this page prior to your visit or call 09 307 7700 during opening hours to avoid disappointment.

Conditions of entry and use

Members are permitted to bring one additional guest into the Lounge. You can use the facilities available to make yourself a tea or coffee, and feel free to bring in your own food or food purchased in our café. It is not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages.

Please tidy up after yourself and notify a staff member if the Lounge needs cleaning or maintenance.

This is a shared space, so please respect other Lounge users: no music, video calling and/or loud phone calls or conversations please. Small meetings are permitted as long as they are informal and discreet – please don’t use the Lounge for interviews, performance reviews, contract negotiations and the like. Any staff instructions should be followed and children must always be supervised.

All the items in the Lounge belong to the Gallery; please don’t take anything from this space. Please be aware that CCTV cameras are installed in the Lounge to monitor for any unwanted or unsafe activity.
