Paul Nash
Artwork Detail
Paul Nash was fascinated with megalithic stone sites in England. Ruth Clark wrote, '…His response was to the drama of the Stones… his sensitiveness to magic and the sinister beauty of monsters was stirred, and he long contemplated the great mass of their forms, their aloofness, their majesty, the shadows they cast on the grass, the loveliness of their harsh surfaces and the tenderness of their colouring.'
