Natalie Robertson
Artwork Detail
Te Puna o Rangitauāki, Te Rimu, 2018 is part of a larger body of photography which focus upon significant land sites upon the ancestral territories of Waiapu, of which artist Natalie Robertson descends from.
This puna is an artesian spring that bubbles upwards from the earth. Lined with wild fern and native fauna that keep the water and the surrounds perpetually clean. The spring is a puna mana whenua, an unfailing fount of water, held in the highest regard by the people who care for it. “We must not fail it; it is our oasis”.
