Simon Ingram
Artwork Detail
The thirty paintings that make up Radio Painting Station plot energy emitted from hydrogen atoms in outer space. This body of work continues Simon Ingram's interest in art's ability to capture energy and effects from the natural world and beyond.
The scans upon which these paintings are based were all taken of energy received from the 21 cm band, otherwise known as “the waterhole”, or, the 1420 MHz frequency. All were taken at 2.28pm on a Monday or Thursday in the months of July to October 2014. At the latitude of 36.873605 and longitude 174.738418
