Archive Collection Detail
Claudia Pond Eyley (b. 1946) is an Auckland artist, writer and filmmaker. She studied painting at Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland in the 1960s and has exhibited widely since, both locally and internationally.
Pond Eyley has been a member of many groups promoting environmental and social justice including VAANA (Visual Artists Against Nuclear Arms) and the Association of Women Artists. Her commitment is reflected in her art with over ten large-scale commissions, including the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Mural (with Jan Morrison) and five documentary films, two of which have been short-listed for awards.
This archive consists of much visual and textual documentation of Pond Eyley’s projects, such as two illustrated journals from her time on Kiribati visiting fellow artist and friend Robin White. In addition, there is exhibition ephemera, publications, media clippings, correspondence, photographic material, audio-visual resources and posters including original working drawings.
