Archive Collection Detail
Ilse von Randow (1901-1998) was asked to submit a design by the Auckland City Art Gallery for woven curtains to hang in the newly renovated Mackelvie Gallery in December, 1957. The curtains were unveiled to the public in September of the following year and have become a New Zealand design icon in the years since.
This archive consists of 3 preparatory sketches and 1 photographic installation view of the curtains.
The curtains are now in the collection of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
